Privacy policy

Last updated 31 August 2026

InterviewDone is a desktop assistant for live interviews and meetings. This policy explains what we collect, what leaves your machine, and what we never keep — in plain terms, because the answers matter more than the legalese.

The short version

We hold as little as we can. Your account needs an email address; the app needs to count the minutes you use. Beyond that, the material you feed the assistant — your resume, a job description, your notes — stays on your own computer.

  • Call audio is never recorded to a file, and never stored by us.
  • Your resume, notes and job descriptions stay on your machine.
  • We do not sell personal data, and we do not run advertising.
  • We use your material to answer your questions — not to train AI models.

What we collect

When you create an account, we store your email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name and profile picture from Google — no more than that, and only after you approve it on Google's own screen.

While you use the app, we record how many minutes you have used in the current billing month, and a short record of each session: when it started, how long it ran, and which device it ran on. That is what enforces your plan's allowance and what shows you your remaining minutes.

We also store your plan, the devices you have signed in from, and any feedback you choose to send us.

  • Email address, and — with Google sign-in — your name and profile picture.
  • Minutes used this month, and start time and duration per session.
  • Which devices you have signed in from.
  • Feedback you submit, including anything you type into it.
  • If you joined the waitlist: your email, the segment you chose, and optionally a company name.

What happens to your call audio

This is the part most people want to know about, so it is worth being exact.

While a session is running, audio is captured and streamed for transcription as it happens. It is not written to a file, on your machine or ours, and we do not keep a copy. When the session ends, the audio is gone; what remains is the duration we counted against your allowance.

The transcript exists only for as long as it takes to work out what you were asked and produce an answer. We do not build an archive of your interviews.

What stays on your computer

The material you give the assistant to ground its answers — your resume, a job description, saved notes, links and context profiles — is stored locally by the desktop app in your own user directory. It is not uploaded to us, and it is not in our database.

The relevant parts are sent to our AI provider at the moment an answer is generated, because that is how the answer can be about you rather than generic. They are not retained there for training.

The overlay window is also local: it is drawn on your machine and is not part of what a screen-sharing tool captures. We describe that as privacy, and that is what it is for — it is not a promise that any particular meeting tool cannot detect the app, and you should not treat it as one.

Who else processes your data

We use a small number of providers, each for one job. They act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

  • Supabase — accounts, authentication and our database.
  • Deepgram — converts speech to text while a session is running.
  • Anthropic — generates the suggested answers.
  • Cloudflare R2 — hosts the installer you download.
  • Vercel — hosts this website.
  • Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.

How long we keep things

Your account details stay for as long as your account exists. Session records and monthly usage are kept as billing history — the record of what happened, which is why clearing a meter does not rewrite them. Audio and transcripts are not kept at all, as above.

Ask us to delete your account and we will remove your profile, your device records and your usage history.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we will act on it. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA; we will honour those requests regardless of where you are.

You can also simply stop: uninstalling the desktop app removes the local material it stored, and asking us to close your account removes the rest.

Recording and consent are your responsibility

Using this software during a call may be restricted by your employer, by the policy of whoever is interviewing you, or by law where you live — several places require every party to a conversation to consent to it being processed. We cannot know which of those apply to you.

Checking, and complying, is yours to do. We built the tool; how you use it is your call and your responsibility.

Children

InterviewDone is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, tell us and we will remove it.

Changes, and how to reach us

The product is in alpha and still changing, so this policy will change with it. The date at the top tells you which version you are reading, and we will not quietly widen what we collect without saying so.
